Can You Bring BCAA Powder On A Plane

When you’re traveling on a plane, whether it’s for business or leisure, your luggage is inspected. It’s important to know the TSA rules and regulations when packing your bags, especially if you’re bringing any dietary supplements. We all know that liquids are prohibited in checked baggage, so what about powders? With so many different brands of BCAA powder out there, it can be hard to figure out which one is best. Some of them are more expensive than others, but do the more expensive ones perform better? Keep reading to learn about what you need to know before you head off on that next trip.

Can You Bring BCAA Powder On A Plane? Airlines Rules You Need To Know

You might be wondering, “Can you bring BCAA powder on a plane?” Well, it depends.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) prohibits any liquids that are not in an approved container past the checkpoint. That means that if your BCAA powder is not in either a quart-sized bag or 3.4 ounces or smaller container, you will not be able to bring it through the checkpoint. The TSA website has more information about approved containers and what they mean.

If you are bringing your BCAA powder onto the plane, make sure to put it in an approved container and go through the screening process to avoid having any issues when traveling!

As stated above, “The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) prohibits any liquids that are not in an approved container past the checkpoint. In addition, both gels and chews are now allowed in carry-on bags.

As far as bringing BCAA infused drinks and energy drinks you will be forced to discard them at the checkpoints.

Will TSA Sweat You Before Boarding When Travelling With BCAA’s Or Supplements

When going through an airport with a small amount of BCAA powder you should plan ahead with how you will get all of your powders through security. It would be wise to just put them in a ziplock bag and label them BCAA’s to avoid any confusion or suspicion of smuggling contraband. In addition, even though you do not have to worry about bringing enough BCAA’s to last through a trip or competition you should be aware of how many different powders you are carrying with you. If a TSA agent pats down your bag and feels any hard crystalline materials they will be testing it to see if they are narcotics. If a TSA agent feels different types of powders they will want you to explain what they are.

Luckily for my appearance, they can tell that I am a bodybuilder but others are not as fortunate. But this does not mean that I condone bringing any type of illegal supplements on a flight and risk getting banned from the airline or having supplements confiscated. So to all the bodybuilders out there planning to start a trip or competition this article is for you and what you can do to avoid losing your BCAA powder before the show.

Tips To Avoid Losing Your Supplements At The Airport

So here are my tips and tricks on how you can take your BCAA’s with you on a plane without being detected or without getting banned or have your supplements forfeited;

First things first, if in doubt or it’s a substance you’re not sure of, throw it away. Even if you are taking them and it is a one-way flight, throw them away. You do not want to risk even a misdemeanor felony charge of smuggling contraband or some other similar criminal offense by taking any chances of getting caught with illegal supplements with you. If, on the other hand, you are sure of the supplement and the source that should be fine. Also, make sure that they do not sound like they are prescription pills or anything that can raise an eyebrow.

Keep Your BCAA’s In The Original Packaging

It’s advisable to keep the BCAA powder in its original packaging and just keep it with your checked-in luggage instead of your carry-on. It’s not worth the headache and scrutiny that comes with trying to bring them onto a plane.

Double Bag All Your BCAA Powder and Supplements So They Don’t Spill Into Your Luggage

Tips To Avoid Losing Your Supplements At The Airport

I cannot begin to count the number of times that I have traveled to a competitor or been on vacation only to find that my clothing and belongings are powder coated in protein and BCAA’s! Double bag all of your BCAA’s and Supplements if you must bring them with you; The worst part about losing all your supplements is trying to find quality replacements in a foreign city. So, keep them in your checked luggage instead.

Conclusion, When In Doubt Just Fly Without.

It’s important to be knowledgeable when traveling with BCAA Powders, especially when traveling internationally. Knowing the rules before you travel can help you avoid any issues at the airport. If you want to check out my favorite BCAA mix that I travel with it’s Win The Fight – Pre Workout BCAAs.  You will want to keep this container in your luggage for sure it tastes way too good to be taken away from you.

Pre Workout BCAA Cherry Cola Flavor

The cherry cola flavor tastes so good that it would be a violation to leave it locked away in your luggage! Bring a few scoops with you on flight and mix it with some sparkling water it tastes better than Coke or Pepsi
